Sky Tempesta Racing Takes Third Place Following a Successful Podium Streak

Sky Tempesta Racing, secured an impressive third-place finish in the Bronze Cup at the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS race held at Circuit Paul Ricard this weekend. The team’s remarkable performance, having started in overall last place on the starting grid due to a technical malfunction during qualifying, took them from 57th to 18th overall, and third in the Bronze Cup race. The result further solidifies their position as a contender in the highly competitive Bronze Cup, placing them second in the current standings.

We knew that it would be a difficult and challenging race starting from dead last but we managed with good pace, perfect pitstops and especially no penalties to achieve a very important P3 that gives us a good boost for the next big race at the CrowdStike 24 Hours of Spa”

Chris Froggatt, Driver of Sky Tempesta Racing, “Wow, it was a pretty cool race! After damage putting us out of qualifying, starting dead last and making up 39 places to finish 3rd in class was so exciting! I am really proud of my teammates and the whole team, and their conviction to keep pushing and manage a clean fast race. These were some very important points towards the championship and a great way to maintain momentum for CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa.”

Jonathan Hui, Driver of Sky Tempesta Racing, “After being unable to complete Qualifying due to damage sustained on the car, we knew we had to adopt an aggressive strategy to try and fight our way back into a points-scoring position starting from last to keep our championship hopes alive. We drove flat out the entire 6 hours which was tough given that there was only one short safety car period at the beginning of the race. The performance of the team and my teammates were flawless this weekend, and to reach P3 in class is beyond my expectation.”

This achievement comes on the heels of another podium for Sky Tempesta Racing. In April, the team secured a second-place finish at the prestigious Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS race at Monza.

In addition to their outstanding performance in Europe, Sky Tempesta Racing has also been on a podium streak in the Intelligent Money British GT Championship. Driven by the dynamic duo of Chris Froggatt and Kevin Tse, the team has achieved resounding victories, taking first place in the Silver-Am Cup Category at Donington Park. This impressive triumph came after three notable podiums, with a third place at the highly anticipated Silverstone 500 and a second and third podium in the first two rounds of the championship at Oulton Park.

As the team’s achievements continue to soar, Sky Tempesta Racing eagerly looks ahead to their participation in the prestigious CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa race on Saturday 1 July 2023. This legendary endurance event promises to test the team’s determination and resilience, and they are fully prepared to rise to the challenge. With their track record of second and third podium places at Circuit Spa-Francorchamps. Sky Tempesta Racing aims to leave a memorable mark on the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa and get the first place they have long been aiming for.

Sky Tempesta Racing will support Jonathan Hui’s entry in the Intercontinental GT Challenge Powered by Pirelli Independent Cup in the Mercedes AMG GT3, with teammates, Christopher Froggatt and Edward Cheever, racing with Jonathan Hui at the Indianapolis 8 Hour Presented by AWS, and Gulf 12 Hours.
