Having already competed as an occasional ‘gentleman driver’ for over 16 years, 42-year-old Hong Kong businessman Jonathan Hui is certainly no stranger to sports car racing.

A typical boyhood interest in cars and the inevitable forays into track-day events while living in Canada, invariably led to aspirations of becoming a racing driver.

With a clear focus on long distance endurance races, he has already competed in eight 24-hour races, notably achieving class podiums in the Dubai 24 Hours in 2017 and 2018 whilst representing Hong Kong, and the Gulf 12 Hours at the iconic Yas Marina F1 circuit.

After further podiums in the 2019 Blancpain GT series, Jonathan teamed up with SKY Tempesta Racing again in 2020, hoping to build on his successes to date, an ambition soon realised with a superb 2nd in Pro-Am at the gruelling Total 24 Hours of Spa, becoming the first driver from Hong Kong to ever reach the podium at the historic race since its inception in 1924.

Clearly, the driver development opportunities being fostered within the SKY Tempesta Racing team are well suited to Jonathan’s quest to continue his winning ways as an endurance racer in 2021 and beyond…all the way to Le Mans and the Circuit de la Sarthe.
